FFF is an abbreviation for fast faction farming. The faction in question to farm is usually Kurzick Faction but the concept can apply to Luxon Faction or even Balthazar Faction. The importance in fast faction farming is on getting as much faction as possible in as little time as possible to allow for many runs to be done quickly. There are many methods to Fast Faction Farm, but some are more popular than others. Farming Balthazar faction is useful because it can be used to unlock Heroes, skills, weapon upgrades, runes and insignia for PvP characters from Priests of Balthazar. It is shared between all characters on the same account. It is also possible to obtain Zaishen Keys with it. Zaishen Keys can be purchased from Tolkano for either 5,000 Balthazar Faction or 5 Tournament Reward Points. It opens the Zaishen Chest in the Isle of the Nameless. Zaishen Chest’s drop - Random rare (gold) weapon - Lockpick - Elite Tome - Non Elite Tome - Crème Brûlée - Flask of Firewater - (Everlasting) Beetle Juice Tonic - (Everlasting) Transmogrifier Tonic - (Everlasting) Yuletide Tonic - (Everlasting) Phantasmal Tonic Kurzick faction has many uses. - A player must have 10,000 unspent Kurzick faction in order to complete the primary quest Befriending the Kurzicks, to access The Eternal Grove and progress along the Kurzick branch of the Factions campaign. - A player can exchange 1,000 Kurzick faction points for one Amber Chunk or one Passage Scroll to Urgoz's Warren at the Kurzick Bureaucrat in the House Zu Heltzer. - A player can purchase a Kurzick skill for 3,000 Kurzick faction. - Spending faction adds points to the Friend of the Kurzicks Title Track, which increases the power of Kurzick skills. Faction spent on Amber and Passage Scrolls provides 1 point per faction spent. Faction spent on faction transfer and Kurzick skills provides 2 points per faction spent. Luxon Faction also is useful. - A player must have 10,000 unspent Luxon faction in order to complete the primary quest Befriending the Luxons, to access Gyala Hatchery and progress along the Luxon branch of the Factions campaign. - A player can exchange 1,000 Luxon faction for one Jadeite Shard or one Passage Scroll to the Deep at the Luxon Scavenger in Cavalon. - A player can purchase a Luxon skill for 3,000 Luxon faction. - Spending faction adds points to the Friend of the Luxons Title Track, which increases the power of Luxon skills. Faction spent on Jadeite and Passage Scrolls provides 1 point per faction spent. Faction spent on faction transfer and Luxon skills counts double. So, how do you go about fast faction farming? Well first you need to decide what faction it is that you want to farm. If you decide to go with Kurzick or with the Luxons, the main purpose of this type of farming is to obviously amass large amounts of Faction with the Kurzicks or the Luxons. Faction farming is commonly practiced by members of an alliance trying to increase their Alliance Faction with either of the two nations. For each side, there are a few areas that players go to farm faction. These are: - Competitive Missions: Fort Aspenwood and The Jade Quarry. - Challenge Missions: Altrumm Ruins, Amatz Basin, Zos Shivros Channel and The Aurios Mines. - Alliance Battles - Repeating PvE quests over and over. This tends to be the fastest way, but also is targeted by ArenaNet to tone down the speed by which players can gather faction. - Blessing of the Kurzicks and Blessing of the Luxons, available respectively in explorable areas of the Echovald Forest and the Jade Sea, provide faction per kill with bonuses awarded for defeating bosses. If you are going down the Kurzick path, these are the quests to do: - In the Army Now - Kurzick Supply Lines - Securing Echovald Forest - Duel of the Houses - Scouting Ferndale The fastest known way to farm Kurzick faction is to run outside of Lutgardis Conservatory in Melandru's Hope. This run is based on the repetitive completion of the quest Then there is another fast faction farming run outside of Altrumm Ruins. This relies on farming the wardens and four closest bosses in Arborstone in Hard Mode. On average, it produces 1400 faction in 3 minutes for proficient teams, which are hard to come by on some days. If you are going down the Luxon path, these are the quests to do: - In the Army - Luxon Supply Lines - The Jade Arena - Scouting Maishang Hills - Scout the Coast The quickest known way to fast faction farm Luxon faction is to leave Jade Flats (Luxon) to the northwest. Have a runner head over to Arena Master Portus and complete The Jade Arena quest, /resign and restart. Proficient teams finish the run in around 1.5 minutes, making it ~ 475 Luxon Faction per 1.5 minute run. At around 10k faction per 40 minutes, this is currently the fastest known Luxon Fast Faction Farming. When farming Balthazar faction, faction is acquired when your team kills an opposing team member or wins the match. It does not matter if you are dead or alive at the time of the death of an opponent; you are still awarded with faction points. The amount of unused faction you can have at any one time depends on your ranks in several titles: Hero, Champion, Gladiator and Commander. Faction is awarded as follows: Arena: Ascalon Arena - Unique kill: 5 - Victory: 5 - Bonus for flawless victory: 5 - Bonus for 5 consecutive victories: 5 Shiverpeak Arena - Unique kill: 10 - Victory: 10 - Bonus for flawless victory: 10 - Bonus for 5 consecutive victories: 10 Team Arenas/Random Arenas - Unique kill: 40 - Victory: 50 - Bonus for flawless victory: 50 - Bonus for 5 consecutive victories: 50 Heroes' Ascent - Unique kill: 40 - Victory: - 200 in early missions - 400 in later missions - 800 in the Hall of Heroes - Bonus for flawless victory: 200 Hero Battle - Point scored: 20 (either from a kill or holding the shrine) - Victory: 0-100 (10 for every 2 points you have) Guild versus Guild - Unique kill: 40 - Victory: 1,000–4,000 faction depending on guild rating (1,000 at 1000 rating, 4,000 at 1600 rating) - Bonus for flawless victory: 200–800 faction depending on guild rating (200 at 1000 rating, 800 at 1600 rating) If a player joins a new guild the faction earned from winning GvG battles is reduced for two weeks. Initially the player earns 1/14 the normal faction from a victory. The proportion of the faction awarded to the player increases daily by 1/14 of the normal faction reward. For instance, on the fifth day the player will get 5/14 of the faction rewarded for a victory. Faction gained from unique kills in GvG is not affected. Competitive Mission - Each kill: 6 Alliance Battle - Each kill: 10 Training Arenas, Zaishen Challenge, and Zaishen Elite - Unique kill: 40 - Victory: 50 - Bonus for flawless victory: 50 - Bonus for 5 consecutive wins: 50 Training Arenas, and Zaishen Challenge and Zaishen Elite share a daily faction cap of 2,000. It is not clear exactly whether the "day" resets every 24 hours at a certain time of day, or consists of the 24-hour window up to the current time. The daily faction cap for Zaishen Elite is more complicated. The first round appears to share its cap with Training Arenas and Zaishen Challenge, however subsequent rounds appear to have higher caps. So, for example it is possible to gain faction in the third round after you are no longer able to gain faction in the first or second rounds.
